WATFORD are to commission a statue in honour of Graham Taylor.
The Hornets’ former manager died on January 12, aged 72.
Taylor managed the club in two spells, first taking them from the then Division Four into the top flight and later gaining promotion to the Premier League from the Championship.

He also managed England from 1990 until 1993.
Taylor’s funeral was attended by hundreds of football celebrities and fans, who lined the streets.
A statue celebrating his footballing career will be erected at Vicarage Road and
a pre-season tribute fixture in Taylor’s memory is also on the cards.

Watford said it would be working on the plans with fans’ representatives and the borough council.
On its website, Watford FC described the proposed statue and pre-season match as “two significant tributes…to remember Watford’s greatest ever manager”.
Taylor also guided the club to the only FA Cup final of their history – a 2-0 defeat against Everton in 1984 – and European football in the UEFA Cup.
The former Grimsby Town player also bossed Lincoln City, Aston Villa and Wolves.
